The golden age of superhero movies has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the juggernaut studios are calling it quits. Marvel and DC, currently the biggest players in the superhero genre, both took some time off to rework their plans for the future, and it looks like their decades-long rivalry might finally be revived. 

DC just suffered a huge hit with A-lister Daniel Craig dropping out from an movie, but they have their eye on someone who might give them a huge leg up over Marvel.

In 2024, Nexus Point broke the news that DC had tapped the writer-director duo Justin Kuritzkes and Luca Guadagnino to create their Sgt. Rock adaptation. The pair absolutely owned 2024, working on both Challengers and Queer, and fans were immediately excited at the thought of them helming a story like Sgt. Rock. 

The film will be a period piece set in the 50s and, not long after the announcement, DC had tapped Daniel Craig to star as the battle-hardened leader of the Easy Company unit.

Unfortunately, a report from The Hollywood Reporter today revealed that Craig has dropped out of the movie. Sgt. Rock would have seen Guadagnino and Kuritzkes united with Craig, who starred in Queer, but the actor reportedly stepped back from the role due to scheduling issues with his wife, Rachel Weisz. Other reports claim that Craig lost interest in the role after seeing the subpar box office performance Queer had after its release, as well as its lack of acknowledgment during award season.

Fans of Craig and Guadagnino find the latter reason hard to believe, as Guadagnino is a director known for his unique style and vision, not for box office blockbusters or award sweeps. Whatever the reason, DC didn’t hesitate to start looking for a replacement, and one prospective name piqued attention.

The cast of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu continues to grow, and the latest addition is a major ⏤ I repeat, major ⏤ one. Yes, Chef: New reports have confirmed that Jeremy Allen White will be showing up during the next Star Wars film, and he’s going to be playing a, shall we say, gargantuan character.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is a spin-off movie set after season 3 of Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian. It will feature both of the show’s main characters and likely several other key figures alongside newcomers to the story, one of whom will be played by White. According to a report by Deadline, White will voice the character Rotta the Hutt. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because this character is the son of the iconic crime syndicate leader Jabba the Hutt.

You didn’t expect that, did you? Neither did we, but it’s great news for fans of the franchise, as the report says it won’t just be a small cameo, but a major part of the film. If it wasn’t already obvious, you won’t physically see White in this role ⏤ he’ll only be lending his voice talents, as Jabba doesn’t currently have any human children that we know of. I know, I know, White is one of the great physical specimens of our time. But we’ll just have to find a way to get nice and comfy listening to his brooding baritone.

We’re still a while away from The Mandalorian and Grogu being released in theaters, but the good news is that the film has already completed production. During the recent premiere event for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, writer Dave Filoni shared that filming the movie was a great time that allowed the crew to level up Grogu’s puppetry further than has been seen in the show ⏤ inevitably welcome news for Baby Yoda fans.

While details about the plot of the film have been kept under wraps, footage shown during D23 earlier this year included both Din Djarin and Grogu as the Mandalorian began to train his new apprentice. Sadly, that’s about all that it revealed, so we don’t have a lot to go off of yet.

Jon Favreau directed the movie with the assistance of Filoni in the writing department. Right now there are only a handful of confirmed cast for the movie, including Pedro Pascal returning as Din Djarin, of course, White, and also Sigourney Weaver. As we get closer to seeing the film’s release, you can of course expect the cast list to grow, but it’s quite impressive that production has gotten this far without any secrets spilling out. Star Wars must have those MCU-level NDAs in play, which wouldn’t be a surprise given that it’s also part of the Disney machine.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to be released in theaters on May 22, 2026. That’s still a long ways away, so don’t expect to see any full trailers for the movie anytime soon. The good news is that if you want to get your fix of Mando and Grogu in the meantime, you can always binge through the TV series again, which is available to enjoy now on Disney Plus.

We can probably all agree on two things: the first is that Jeremy Allen White is a fantastic actor who has proven his brilliance with his portrayal of Carmen Berzatto in the hit series The Bear. The second? There is something about him that is undeniably charming, and he was the perfect person to land the new Calvin Klein campaign. If you ever doubted that he was the right man for the job, prepare to be won over because White just left us with our jaws on the floor.

The official Calvin Klein Instagram shared a selection of photos and a short video clip from the campaign, tagging the actor so his 5.2 million followers could also get an eyeful. The images show the star wearing a simple white vest and dark wash jeans as he hangs out in a kitchen (likely a nod to his role as inspiring young chef, Carmi).

It’s a basic and comfortable outfit, but holy smokes, does he look good! “Staying in with @jeremyallenwhitefinally. The vibe is stripped back ease. Just the ribbed cotton tank and 90s denim,” the caption reads. We must agree this outfit is the perfect example of how less is more and fashion doesn’t have to be over the top to make a statement — fans are also eager to see less and more: less clothing and more of Mr. White!

There have been some hilarious reactions to the post, although not everyone was able to string together a sentence longer than “hot,” “OMG,” or “Yes, chef.” Some of our favorite comments are clever plays on words and references to food. “I would like to have him for a snack,” a fan shared. “How does one apply to be that spoon?” another comment reads.

Other reactions include, “It’s a good day to be bread,” “The way he made that peanut butter and jelly sandwich… plz Chef,” and “A snack getting himself a snack.” We ire that some fans tried their hardest to keep the focus on the clothing. “Never felt so strongly about a white tank top before,” a comment states.

How many items Calvin Klein will sell thanks to their collaboration with White remains unclear, but they have created one of the sexiest campaigns ever. Earlier this year, White showed off more skin when he posted photos of himself in classic Calvin boxer briefs (let’s face it, the brand is brilliant at marketing its underwear). Although this was the photo that thirst trap dreams were made of, the star has also wowed with a tuxedo dressing in a custom, all-black outfit by their Atelier.

We understand why the brand wanted White, and WWD reports that, according to Launchmetrics, when his first campaign photos were shared in January 2024, they “generated $12.7 million in media impact value for Calvin Klein in less than 48 hours.” But why did White want to forces with the fashion brand?

We have our first look at Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen in the musical biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere which has officially begun filming in the Boss’s hometown of New Jersey and New York.

Though the actor looks perfectly acceptable in a non-caricatured version of the rock legend, some people aren’t too pleased about how much he looks like himself. “Bro’s just in a flannel and jacket??,” says one X , while another thinks the actor, famous for his Emmy-winning performance in FX’s The Bear, looks too much like his character, Carmy.

You see, we suspect the overuse of silly-looking prosthetics and wigs in movies of this kind has thwarted people’s ideas of what playing a real-life person should look like. The best biopics are never the ones where the actor looks the most like the icon they’re emulating, but rather where they’re successful at channeling a specific aura, charisma, or talent that defined that person publicly and privately. If Jeremy Allen White looks too much like himself while playing Springsteen, maybe that explains why he was the perfect choice for the role.

For starters, Springsteen’s all-American look isn’t exactly idiosyncratic. In the decades since the “Born to Run” singer shot to fame in the ’70s, many have dressed in the same flannel shirt, rugged blue jeans, and worn leather jacket combo. Including Allen White. The two also happen to have the same unruly flocks of curly hair, though Springsteen’s are darker than those of the man who has been tasked with re-interpreting his life.

Fake teeth or fake noses are not a prerequisite for a great biopic. Often, they’re quite the opposite, since their unnatural, exaggerated visuals can easily become distracting. Worry not, we’re sure Allen White will wear a red bandana at some point during the film, but, be honest, would Springsteen wear one if he was just out in town, walking somewhere? Besides, the musician himself agrees with this take.

“This is not easy to do because you can’t do an imitation, you have to do a personal interpretation,” Springsteen reflected in an appearance on The Graham Norton Show during which he spoke about the film. “It’s difficult but he is a great actor and sings pretty good,” he continued, adding that he’s “a little” involved in the production and that he finds the cast “lovely.”

Deliver Me From Nowhere was written and is being directed by Crazy Heart‘s Scott Cooper. It will focus specifically on the making of Springsteen’s Nebraska album in 1982, based on Warren Zanes’ book of the same title published last year. In a press release, Cooper vouched to honor the essence and spirit of both the album and the book in his film. “Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me,” he explained.

We’ve never heard as much about Jeremy Allen White in the last decade as we have in the past year or so. Sure, part of the buzz is because he’s starring in one of today’s most popular shows, but much of the attention stems from his love life — and his underwear photoshoots. The latter is just a bonus, but you get the idea.

For nearly 11 years, there was almost complete silence regarding White’s personal life — granted, this was before his breakout role in The Bear, but still. Then, we learned that he not only has two kids but was also going through a divorce (yes, he was married!). Soon after, he and Rosalía were spotted together, with plenty of love and plenty of smoke. And now, rumor has it he’s found love again with a co-star.

It seems the Shameless actor has already moved on from Spanish waters, and he seems to be now dating his co-star, Molly Gordon, whom you might know as Claire from The Bear. In photos, shared by TMZ, White and Gordon appear to be sharing a brief kiss and hug on September 25 — coincidentally, Rosalía’s birthday. Talk about messy.

While there’s no official confirmation that White is dating his on-screen girlfriend, the images certainly suggest that his relationship with Rosalía ended sometime this year. Their first sighting as a couple was in October 2023, shortly after Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro called off their engagement and White finalized his divorce from Addison Timlin. White and Rosalía seemed inseparable for months — until July, when they were last photographed together.

The timing of White and Gordon’s public display of affection couldn’t have been more funny. Rosalía, who just turned 32, celebrated her birthday with a star-studded bash in Paris, attended by the likes of Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Kylie Jenner. Fans quickly noticed that Jeremy was not among the famous faces in the City of Lights, which just so happened to be the same day he was seen with Gordon.

If White and Gordon are indeed a new couple, they likely first met during the filming of The Bear season 2 in 2022. Gordon was cast as Claire, a longtime friend of Carmy (played by White), whose relationship with the chef quickly blossoms into some flirting. Earlier this month, White celebrated his second Emmy Award for his role on The Bear, and it seems the show might have given him more than just a few accolades.

While being able to cook a delicious meal is one of the most attractive traits in a man, Carmy from The Bear is far from perfect (now, if he can work through his emotions and act more maturely, that’s another story, but I digress). Thankfully, Jeremy Allen White on the other hand is perfection, as evidenced by his most recent photoshoot.

After giving the world the gift of his January 2024 Calvin Klein billboard, White is back at it. He posed for a fall 2024 Calvin campaign in Los Angeles and The Hollywood Reporter shared photos of The Bear star lounging in just his underwear (okay, fine, he had socks on, too).

In one photo, White is wearing grey underwear while relaxing in a chair. In another, he’s lounging with his feet in a pool (with two adorable dogs). There are also some equally attractive pictures of him wearing jeans with a bomber jacket and a tank top… but no matter how good he looks in jeans, those aren’t the photos everyone is talking about. Calvin Klein called him “a sun-drenched daydream” and it’s hard to argue with that.

First White gives an absolutely stunning performance in all three seasons of The Bear, and now he’s posing for TWO Calvin Klein campaigns?! It’s too good to be true. According to THR, he said of working with the famous brand, “Calvin Klein’s aesthetic has always been timeless” but I can’t really pay attention to anything he’s saying right now, it’s getting hot in here.

Okay. I’m focused again. While anyone with those abs reserves the right to be at least a little bit conceited, White is refreshingly humble when talking about both campaigns. Back in January, he told GQ that he had “imposter syndrome.” He added, “I can’t see myself on a billboard. I shouldn’t be here.” Then, in August 2024, he explained in another GQ interview that he was “insecure” and appreciated the positive reaction from fans. “Like so many things in my life right now, they’re all very cool and surprising.”

Because everyone saw White’s January 2024 Calvin Klein photos, there’s one major question on our minds: how did he end up with those abs? After all, filming a dark comedy/drama like The Bear doesn’t require its main lead to spend hours in the gym or counting macros. According to White himself, his workouts include calisthenics, jumping rope, and running. While he might not be filming The Iron Claw anymore, it looks like he’s definitely kept up with his workouts, if these new photos are any indication. Although fans have had several opportunities to see White’s incredible abs on display, as he’s often photographed going for runs, the intensity of those abs is on full display in this new campaign.

While there might not be any shirtless scenes of Carmy in The Bear season 4 since it’s not that kind of show, at least Calvin Klein is helping fans out! And maybe, if we’re lucky, there will be even more underwear campaigns in the future. We just might need to call 9-1-1 if that happens.

There is seemingly no reprieve from the online vitriol that social media is willing to sling at its s. Now even some of the most beloved actors of our time are not safe.

It all started with one X ’s hot takes on the popular actors of the day. @imnotpopbase decided to categorize working actors by their looks and offer a thesis that is controversial at best.

The mean-spirited post argued that actors such as Jensen Ackles and Hugh Jackman were only considered attractive because of their whiteness. Ranking people based on attractiveness seems like a hateful relic from Mark Zuckerberg’s FaceMash days of the early aughts. And in addition to not being topical, it is also objectively incorrect. Many people on social media wasted no time rushing to correct the slight against these well-regarded professionals.

Social media defended Ackles and Jackman

Beauty is said to be in the eye of the beholder, but some things are just factual. You can tell that s spreading vicious rhetoric such as this were not in the Supernatural trenches of the 2000s. Ackles was a highly sought-after actor of his time, being one half of the duo that kept a franchise going for a decade and a half. And Jackman similarly needs no defense. Not when he is the cultural icon behind the cigar-smoking ball of fury. However, they weren’t the only targets. One of the other outliers on the photographic is, of course, Drake. Many commenters pointed out that he didn’t exactly fit in with the others on the list.

These comments likely have to do with the Drake and Kendrick Lamar discourse that has been overwhelming the pop culture cycle. Lamar has noted that Drake benefits from his racial identity in a way that others can’t. It’s possible this was using this post as a tongue-in-cheek way to address that he is privileged because of being biracial.

Other actors that made the list are unequivocal superstars such as Timothée Chalamet, Jeremy Allen White, Jacob Elordi, and Ryan Reynolds. These actors don’t seem to require an army, but principled social media s reacted nonetheless.

I see Jensen Ackles is trending, because some nitwit included him in a list of "guys who are only considered hot because they're white".

Ackles categorically wins the award of man who is most defended. It’s hard to disagree that he is the actor on the list that most adheres to traditional standards of beauty. And since Supernatural has ended, he has only gotten more popular. His brief stint as the villainous Soldier Boy in The Boys has earned him his own spin-off entitled Vought Rising.

But of course, this kind of backlash is exactly what s like @imnotpopbase want, which was noted by many commenters. This type of rhetoric is used to inspire discourse and add more attention to the ’s profile. It is what bored people set their sights on when they have nothing better to do. Regardless, it is high time that society dispenses with cruel debates that have only been exacerbated by the cesspool that is X. In the meantime, internet trolls should try to enjoy something for a change and maybe get reacquainted with the Supernatural pantheon.

Jeremy Allen White has proven himself as not just a versatile actor, but a committed one. After a decade on the Showtime dramedy, Shameless, he slid seamlessly into the acclaimed show The Bear.

White plays Carmy, a professionally trained chef who returns to his family’s humble Italian beef shop in Chicago after the death of his brother. Carmy aims to turn the titular restaurant into something special and implements many fine dining techniques in the neighborhood spot. To play the role convincingly, he and co-star Ayo Edibiri trained with professional chefs in kitchen skills.

Now in season 3, The Bear is hitting full steam ahead and shot some scenes in the food city of Copenhagen. On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, White explained that he assumed that meeting the chefs would be business as usual, but was sorely mistaken. Emphasis on sore. 

The food consultant for the series, Courtney Store, reached out to White to tell him that the chefs wanted to train with the actor. Thinking they meant more kitchen skills, he agreed.

“‘No, he’d like to physically train with you,’” White recalled Store saying. 

The actor is no stranger to physical activity. He trained extensively to appear as a real-life wrestler, Kerry Von Erich in The Iron Claw. But when he showed up to train with the Copenhagen chefs he quickly realized how out of depth he was. White detailed the extensive circuit training they went through, including burpees, bench presses, and dips.

“We did 10 rounds of this and after the 5th round, I had to excuse myself to go throw up. And I did. I really embarrassed myself in front of these really incredible chefs and like maniac masochists.”

The Bear is known for demonstrating some of the hardcore trade secrets of the food industry, but it’s unlikely this anecdote will make it into season 3.

Jeremy Allen White has worked super hard to bring us the brilliant character of Carmy Berzatto on The Bear, from seeing what it’s like to work in a real kitchen to truly inhabiting the talented, anxious chef’s journey to success. While we wait to see if our favorite part of season 2 will be repeated in season 3, we can watch White’s awesome appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert from a few days ago.

White shared with Colbert that his path to becoming the incredible actor he is today all started with a dance teacher, who, it turns out, wasn’t all that good at her job.

White shared that he spent his childhood and teen years in Brooklyn and that his school was on 48th Avenue. However, prior to attending a performing arts high school, he was a ionate ballet and tap dancer. Unfortunately (or fortunately), when he was 12 years old, he attended middle school with a teacher who just didn’t take dance seriously like he did.

As it turns out, we can all be super grateful to this dance teacher for making The Bear star so bored and frustrated that he decided to act instead. As White told Colbert “I didn’t think this dance teacher took dance seriously enough.” Showing the kind of confidence that we wish Carmy had more of (maybe in season 3?), the actor said he actually let the teacher know what he thought. White laughed and said the teacher “knew what she did” and didn’t even seem shocked at his comments. He added, “They weren’t taking it seriously enough and that’s how I found acting.”

While we take another minute to be impressed that White stood up to this teacher at such a young age, we can also praise White’s next teacher, who he calls John. After he began taking a drama class, White says John “took things very seriously” (phew) and that he and his class were made to perform back-to-back performances of Twelfth Night and Macbeth (wow). We can only imagine what that dance teacher is thinking now, considering that White won the 2023 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

The interview also featured an adorable moment between Jeremy Allen White and Stephen Colbert when Colbert said it must be “surreal” to win awards for The Bear while looking at all the other actors who are so legendary. White agreed, proving he’s just as humble and sweet as his character.

In a 2023 interview with GQ, White’s co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays Richie/Cousin on The Bear — aka one of the greatest TV characters ever written — shared that he believed White had a professional dancing background. While White was definitely into dance, he shifted to acting early on in his young career, as he told Colbert. Moss-Bachrach said, “I actually thought that Jeremy had a ballet background for a while. I used to tell people that he was a ballet dancer as a kid. One day he came up to me and he was like, ‘What the f**k are you talking about, man? I’m not a dancer!’”

Elsewhere in the interview, White shared that while he normally prefers to steer clear of watching himself on screen, upon receiving a screener, he watched all seven episodes of The Bear season 3 in one sitting because it was that good. Between his endorsement and the dramatic season 3 trailer, we’re growing less patient by the day. Nevertheless, we know it’ll be worth it.

The Bear season 3 will be available to stream on Wednesday, June 26 at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Hulu. All 10 episodes will drop at once.
