MCU fans get morbid and predict which Avengers will die in ‘The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars’

We know that both Secret Wars are set to have some major character deaths, but the question is “Who?” As usual, fans have their own predictions on who could kick the bucket.

The question posed on Reddit asked fans to give their predictions on who they think will be killed off since we now know, thanks to the film’s writer Jeff Loveness, that death is on the table. There were some genuine theories that listed a few heroes we’d hate to see go — such as Doctor Strange and Hawkeye.

The older characters are definitely prime targets if Marvel is looking to do a bit of pruning. With so many new characters and fresh-faced replacements for the older heroes, like Kate Bishop and Sam Wilson, it makes sense that Marvel would continue to kill or retire the older heroes who have maybe already had their time in the spotlight. It’s been doing this since Phase Three with Iron Man and Black Widow.

More than a few who replied seemed to think Hank Pym would bite the dust before the end credits role. Why they’re targeting poor old Hank, we’ll never know, but one suggested he will die as revenge for his part in Quantumania. Either way, it looks like he’s quickly approaching the end if fan predictions are to be trusted. (And why wouldn’t you trust them?)

Some fans are clearly getting a bit tired of the lackluster films Marvel has put out in Phases Four and Five as their responses demonstrate a bitter cynicism regarding the franchise.

There were plenty of other predictions with explanations to back them up. Some fans also had doubts that anyone would really die in either film, or that we would see a lot of variants die but not necessarily the main cast. It’s safe to say if this were the case, fans wouldn’t be pleased. As much as everyone would like to see Doctor Strange, the Hulk, Hawkeye, and Thor go on forever, the fact of the matter is the MCU is getting too crowded and there has to be a cull. They can’t keep going indefinitely, as much as we want them to. 

Although it may be morbid to try and predict who will die, realistically, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars need to kill off some important characters to give the story emotion while also presenting a credible threat in Kang. We can’t have another film like Quantumania where there’s no sense of danger and no emotional connection.
