However, after participating in a Zoom interview, the show’s producers abruptly “ghosted” them. Thompson expressed her confusion over the situation, stating, “I ain’t sign no contract so I can say whatever I want!”

Speaking with Page Six Radio, Thompson added, “House of Villains reached out to me and they wanted me to be on it,” she alleged. “And I had an interview with them — never heard anything back. So…”

The harsh reality of reality TV

This incident adds to the ongoing narrative of Thompson’s complex relationship with the reality TV industry. Having grown up in the spotlight through shows like Toddlers & Tiaras and her mother mismanaged the funds.

Mama June itted to withdrawing $35,000 from Thompson’s Coogan , a trust legally required for child performers, though she later returned the money. Despite this, Thompson reported that only $10,000 remained in her after years of work.

In a candid moment on Mama June: Family Crisis, Thompson confronted her mother about the lack of financial . But as Thompson told Page Six, “We’re in a better place now,” so the mother-daughter House of Villains concept might have worked.

Thompson’s recent projects

Despite these challenges, Thompson remains determined to forge her own path. She recently narrated the Lifetime biopic I Was Honey Boo Boo, which premiered on May 17, 2025. Moreover, her relationship with Mama June has seen moments of reconciliation. The duo appeared together on The Masked Singer in 2021 as the “Beachball,” performing Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.” Mama June described the performance as a significant milestone in her sobriety journey.

So, Thompson’s House of Villains experience is just how it can be in reality TV. As Thompson continues to navigate these challenges, she remains resolute in sharing her truth and advocating for herself.
